User talk:Robheydon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, Robheydon, and welcome to Wikipedia. There are a lot of policies you might be unaware of, so I'll point out the ones that are most relevant (to your recent Rob Heydon article). (I"m assuming you are Rob Heydon, only half of this applies if you are not, and if you aren't let me know so I can remove the template from Talk:Rob Heydon.)

First: Wikipedia:Autobiography. Autobiography is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. You might know more about yourself than anyone else, but you can't be expected to adhere to the neutral point of view policy.

Second: Wikipedia:Copyrights. Much of the header material at Rob Heydon appears to be copied from the IMDB here. This is illegal (not just against policy) and will need to be remedied. I have copied the "okay" content to a temporary subpage of that article, the main article will need to be deleted and replace with the temp version. (Please make any further edits to the temporary version.)

Other than those cautions, I offer you my welcome below:

[edit] Welcome

Hello, Robheydon, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Two other details: First, you can sign your posts on discussion (non-article) pages by typing ~~~~. This produces a signature letting everyone else know who wrote the comment. Also, you should take note of the edit summary box that appears below the editing area: you can put a short description of your changes there. You may want to mark it as a minor edit if it's something like fixing a typo. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump, or ask me on my talk page.
