[edit] Dr. Thomas Neill Cream

Hi Robert,

The the article on Cream was good and probably long overdue. I went and tweaked some of it, but the main things I did was change it so Neill had two Ls (which seems to be the more preferred spelling) and to update some of it with info pulled from list of proposed Jack the Ripper suspects. I also made some forwards just in case anyone looked for it as Thomas Cream, Dr. Thomas Cream, etc. It's be nice if we could come up with a list of books or articles to add as a References section at the end. If you have comments, points of discussion, etc. you can make them on the talk page of the article. -- DreamGuy 22:52, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] George Chapman (murderer)

Hi Robert,

Another good page. I did a quick run through it, but later on I'll come back with some books I have to see about adding a few facts (the prostitute killed in the USA around the same time he moved there, which was a major factor in him being named a suspect; his common law wife named Sarah Ann Chapman that he took the last name of to end up as George Chapman; etc.) and a short References section at the end. By the way, you can sign talk and commebt pages by typing four tildes in a row -- see Welcome message above -- which nicely puts your name and a time/date stamp, like mine that follows. [edit] Sources for Paolo Borsellino

Hello, good work on Paolo Borsellino, and thanks for the contribution. However, you forgot to add any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. From what websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Paolo Borsellino? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? You can simply add links, or there are several different citation methods list at WP:CITET. Thanks! Lupin|talk|popups 20:00, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Sure. Consider it done. Robert Mercer 18:17, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pentito

Dear Robert, the singular for a Mafia turncoat is "pentito" and the plural "pentiti". For the rest, keep up to good work. Mafia Expert 15:47, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi Robert, I agree there is significant progress on pages about the Mafia, not in the least because of your efforts. The only thing that worries me is the article about the Mafia. I think it is a disgrace. But what can you do? So many efforts have been made to improve it, but they are mostly deleted. It realy is a shame. Better to concentrate on articles that do have something to add. I read Italian and have loads of material. If you want to know something, feel free to ask. If I find the time, I will try to find the answer. Mafia Expert 22:55, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trial of the 114

Hi Robert, good work on the 1960s Sicilian Mafia trials. It is a complicated matter with several different trials, appeals and casations. However, the Trial of the 114 is a little more complicated, because there has been one in the 1970s as well, with roughly the same defendants. That means that you cannot put it under 1960s Sicilian Mafia trials. We have to think of other headings, I am afraid. How about an article on the Corleonesi (not the Mafia family of Corleone in general, but specifically the faction of Luciano Leggio, Totò Riina, Bernardo Provenzano and their allies in othe Mafia families, in which we can include the section of the trial against the Corleonesi. And a seperate one on the 114 trials? Mafia Expert 14:32, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Robert, excellent ideas about the set up of some new general issues about the Mafia. I had something similar in mind. Unfortunately I have little time at the moment. But I fully agree with the set up you proposed. The page on the Sicilian Mafia Trials is a lot of work though, but we can expand it slowly. However, we should also include the trials in the 1990s and 2000s (Andreotti, the trials about the killing of Falcone and Borsellino etc.) A lot of info on the First Mafia War is also in the Ciaculli massacre and other people such Calcedonio Di Pisa. I will try to find some info on the two Trial of the 114. There is now the category "Category:History of the Italian mafia" where we can list these issues. Maybe we should change that category into "Category:History of the Sicilian Mafia". But I don't how to do that. Anyway, we can figure out exactly how to do it, while doing it. Mafia Expert 11:33, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I agree with the titles First and Second Sicilian Mafia War. Like you said, that makes it clear that these are in Sicily and have nothing to do with Cosa Nostra in the US. I also think that the Antimafia needs more attention, not only the judges, but politicians and journalists and activists as well. Although I don't have much the next couple of weeks I see wath I can do. Mafia Expert 11:52, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Libero Grassi

Nice contribution. The man diserves an article. -- Mafia Expert 14:12, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Chrismorris.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 01:09, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
