[edit] Problem areas
The following are current problem areas that seem to have too much trivia the most:
- TV show episode articles: Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy are three good examples
- Popular film articles
- Popular video game articles
There is obviously others, but those seem to be the most frequent articles that have trivia issues on a regular basis. RobJ1981 18:07, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- Add Futurama episodes to that list. Many have huge trivia articles as well.
[edit] Other sections that are basically considered trivia
In my opinion at least: cultural references/references is about the same as trivia. It's a bulleted list of things that don't fit into the article. Same goes for notes sections and other information sections as well. Keep these in mind, when searching for trivia to tag and clean. RobJ1981 04:21, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Renaming of {{toomuchtrivia}} and category debate
In regards to the guidelines of WP:AVTRIV, I have started a debate as to whether the template and category be renamed as per the guidelines at Template talk:Toomuchtrivia if you wish to voice your opinion regarding my proposal. --tgheretford (talk) 00:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Simpsons Episode synopsises
I'd just like to say that I completely disagree with your philosphy that trivia in the pages for TV series episodes needs to be merged into the main article. An episode SYNOPSIS is called that because it is merely meant to give an overview of the episode. Merging trivia or cultural references makes the synopsis sloppy. Besides, trivia sections are good for research. Sure, not a lot of people will be doing research projects on Simpsons episodes, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have noteable trivia sections. And I've noticed people just taking entire trivia sections out or adding the toomuchtrivia banner thing. I have no problem with removing redundant/useless information, but merging trivia into articles makes little sense. And, nobody has done a lot of episodes from Seasons 1-9, but there is trivia in there that comes from DVD commentaries, which means it likely won't be found on a lot of websites, so it would make sense to keep some of it. -- Scorpion0422 21:09, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
