My name is Robert Scarth and I was born and brought up in Orkney, where my family has roots going back more than 500 years. I left when I was 18 to attend Glasgow University where I was awarded a BSc and PhD in Mathematics. I then moved to London to work for an insurance company, and now live in Zurich, working for the same insurance company. Previously I used the username Skatehorn.
