Robert Field is a Senior Staff Engineer at Sun Microsystems. He was the Specification Lead for JSR-163 which defined the Java Virtual Machine Tool Interface (JVMTI) and java.lang.instrument. He currently leads the specification and development of these interfaces. Previously, he lead the creation of the Java Platform Debugger Architecture, was Specification Lead for JSR-45 (Debugging Support for Other Languages),invented doclets, and designed the doclet API (see Javadoc).
