Roby

Roby is a small residential area of Merseyside, England. It is within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire and is historically linked with its neighbour Huyton by the Huyton-with-Roby civil parish. [1] Like Huyton, Roby is usually thought of as a suburb of Liverpool. It is located at grid reference SJ435905.

In 1894 Roby was included in the Huyton with Roby Urban District. [2] On the abolition of the administrative county of Lancashire in 1974, the urban district was also abolished and its former area was transferred to Merseyside to be combined with that of other districts to form the present-day metropolitan borough of Knowsley. [3]

Roby is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.

Roby has a train station situated on the Liverpool City Line which is situated between the stations of Broad Green and Huyton.
