Robot parade
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 2003, Brookville, Ohio residents planned a parade, in which citizens would dress as robots and march through the city's main streets to show support for presidential candidate John Kerry. Organizers considered the robot theme to be key. They thought it would appeal to youth in the region and increase voter turnout for that demographic in 2004. However, the parade never happened due to "lack of funds for robot armor." Ohio played a major role in the 2004 U.S. presidential election, and some say they wonder whether it is possible that Kerry might have won the state, and therefore the presidency, had this parade taken place.
