Robot is a fictional superhero appearing in the comic book Invincible, which is published by Image Comics.

[edit] History

Prior to the first issue of Invincible, Robot was the leader (and likely founder) of the Teen Team.

Robot was so effective as leader of the Teen Team that he was invited to join the Guardians of the Globe. However, the team members were murdered before he could join. At the invitation of the Pentagon, he was asked to lead and assist in creating the new Guardians of the Globe.

Robot did not show the same leadership proficiency with the Guardians and was replaced as leader by The Immortal. The reason for his distraction was soon revealed. Robot was not a benevolent mechanical man with artificial intelligence; he was instead a robotic version of a disfigured man who was living in a tank of fluid.

The unnamed man had been using Robot to gather genetic material to create himself a perfect body. Robot and his master used The Mauler Twins to place the crippled man's personality into the freshly-created body. (Which happened to be a juvenile clone of Rex Splode.) Soon after, the freshly-implanted consciousness revealed that he commands a small army of Robots.

[edit] Powers and abilities

Robot is technically skilled. He is adept at making use of his lab to perform various tasks, such as erasing memories, tracking both friends and villains, forensic research, and scanning the records of various institutions. As a robot, Robot's body is much stronger and more durable than that of a human. While Robot can be destroyed, he can easily be rebuilt or re-created.
