Robokoneko

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robokoneko means "kitten robot" in Japanese.

This was a project by ATR in Japan with Professor Dr. Hugo de Garis to build a robot kitten controlled via radio link to a computer named the CAM Brain Machine equivalent to 10,000 pentiums that fit on a single desktop. The idea was to evolve cellular automata in hardware using FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) which is what the CAM Brain Machine does. The idea is to use cellular automata to emulate neural networks of which are emulated in the FPGAs of the CAM brain machine.
