Robocore

Robocore is a derivative of Metalcore developed in Orange County, California. Robocore is most notably known for having robot-like sounds within the music. Usually the sounds imitated by robocore bands is the sound of malfunctioning robots.
The band is a pioneer of this hardcore sub-genre. An East coast name-variant of this type is known as mechcore, which is a nomenclature of the "Smart Nerd" scene, showing off intelligence as a sign of evolutionary perfection.
Robocore is also a lifestyle. Many followers of robocore abstain from drugs and sex, comparing themselves to cold, heartless robots. It is different from the straight-edge scene by having followers who never break the "hard drive" and followers that actually like to use other words besides: brotherhood, integrity, unity, fight, we, drug-free, poison, etc. Hard drive refers to the commitment made by robocore followers, comparable to the term "edge".
