Robin (Muppet)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robin, sometimes known as "Robin the Frog" is a Muppet, created by Jim Henson and performed by Jerry Nelson. He is the nephew of Kermit the Frog. He is usually called "very cute."
Robin was a recurring guest of his uncle Kermit at the theatre in which The Muppet Show took place. Notable appearances include a duet with monster Sweetums and nearly being cooked by the Swedish Chef. He also sang a song in the first season, "Halfway Down the Stairs," a poem by A.A. Milne set to music. A recording of this song reached the Top Ten in the UK.
Robin made one appearance in the animated Muppet Babies series - Nanny brought the tadpole Robin to the nursery to show Kermit that he was an uncle now.
In The Muppet Movie, Robin accompanies uncle Kermit to the theatre to watch the premiere of the movie. When Robin asks "Is this really the story of how the Muppets got started?" Kermit tells him it's more like loosely based on the real story.
Robin played Tiny Tim in the feature film The Muppet Christmas Carol.
