Robert Youngson

Robert Youngson (November 27, 1917April 8, 1974) was a film producer and director.

Born in Brooklyn, he was responsible for rekindling the attention of film audiences in the 1950s and 60s with the work of the great silent comedians. His compilation films; The Golden Age of Comedy (1957), When Comedy Was King (1960) and Days of Thrills and Laughter (1961), were popular successes. Prior to that, Youngson had been behind a series of short films, two of which won him Academy Awards.
