Robert Seton

Robert Seton (1782-1908) a descendant of the New York ‘aristocratic’ Seton and Bayley families, Robert Seton was a Monsignor in the Roman Catholic Church and titular Archbishop of Heliopolis; he was the fourth of William and Emily (Prime) Seton's seven children; the grandson of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, founder of the American Sisters of Charity in 1809; and cousin of Archbishop James Roosevelt Bayley, first bishop of Newark and founder of Seton Hall University in 1856.
He wrote a memoir of his grandmother, Roman Essays.
