Robert Pratten is a London based movie writer and director who learnt his trade at the London Film School.

He founded the company Zen Films in 2000 along with his wife Helen with the aim to make films which are ‘entertaining, thought-provoking and irreverent.’

His first film ‘London Voodoo’ received much critical acclaim and has won numerous awards, such as, the Prix du Public (the People’s Award), at Cinenygma 2005 in Luxembourg, Best Feature at the Festival of Fantastic Films Manchester (UK) 2004, Best Feature at the Horror Fiesta 2004 in Warsaw Poland, Best Acting at the Fearless Tales Genre Fest in San Francisco 2004, the Jury Award Best Feature at the Boston International Film Festival 2004 and Best Cinematography at the New York City Horror Fest 2004. He also won the Best Director Award at the Fearless Tales Genre Fest in San Francisco 2004.

Robert has recently finished filming his second film ‘Mindflesh’ which is due to be released in 2008. This film will be based on the novel ‘White Light’ by William Scheinman.

Robert’s company Zen Films have also launched Zen Publishing, a small press which will publish anthologies to support the ideas of their films. Their first anthology ‘Love and Sacrifice’ is set to be released in 2007 as a companion anthology to their film ‘London Voodoo.’
