Robert Alexander Pérez Jiménez (born June 4, 1969 in Bolívar State, Venezuela), best known as Robert Pérez, is a former Major League Baseball outfielder and right-handed batter who played for the Toronto Blue Jays (1994-97), Seattle Mariners (1998), Montreal Expos (1998), New York Yankees (2001) and Milwaukee Brewers (2001).
In 221-game career Pérez batted .254 (126-for-497), with eight home runs, 74 RBI, 49 runs, 19 doubles, one triple and three stolen bases.
Pérez is a legend in Venezuela, where he is nicknamed "El Hombre de Historia", or "The man of History".
Such a nickname comes from the fact he is attempting to become both the second baseball player in Venezuelan baseball history to collect over 500 RBIs at the Venezuelan league, and also the second man to connect 90 career home runs there. If he achieves both milestones, he will be the first man in Venezuelan baseball history to reach both marks.
Pérez plays for the Cardenales de Lara team in the Venezuelan league.
