Robert McCune (born March 9, 1979 in Mobile, Alabama) is an American football player who currently plays linebacker for the Washington Redskins of the NFL. He was acquired by the Washington Redskins in the 5th round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

Robert McCune played linebacker at the University of Louisville. He also ran on the 4x100 relay team in track (Athletics). After coming back from six months in Kuwait, McCune was redshirted as a freshman in 2000. In 2001, McCune was named Special Teams Player of the Year. As a senior, he earned All-Conference USA honors with 115 total tackles. McCune finished his 51-game career with the team by registering 320 total tackles, 6 sacks, 10.5 stops for losses, 2 interceptions, and 9 pass deflections.

Robert McCune played his first career NFL game in Week 9, when the Washington Redskins played the Philadelphia Eagles. In Week 10, McCune was a force on special teams, contributing 3 tackles.

McCune contract was terminated September 02, 2006 to trim the Redskins roster down to 53 players.

MiamiDolphins.com reports the Miami Dolphins signed LB Robert McCune off the Washington Redskins' practice squad Tuesday, Dec. 12.
