Robert McCarthy, Viscount Muskerry and Cork and the Earl of Clancarty (1698 – September, 1769) naval officer and Commodore Governor of Newfoundland, born Ireland and died in Boulogne.
McCarthy (McCarty), a naval officer is notable for being the first Irish Governor of Newfoundland he was appointed on April 5th, 1733.
