Robert Marshall (46er)

Robert Marshall (January 2, 1901 – November 11, 1939) was a founding member of the Wilderness Society and the first Adirondack 46er. Marshall worked for the U.S. Forestry Department before going to John Hopkins University to receive his Ph.D. His father was Louis Marshall, a prominent constitutional lawyer and figure in the establishment of the Adirondack Park.
Marshall was also a writer. He wrote the book, Arctic Village, about the town and people of Wiseman, Alaska. He also wrote the book "The People's Forests" in 1933.
Marshall died in November of 1939 of heart failure.
