Robert Koren (born 20 September 1980) is a Slovenian football midfielder who currently plays for Lillestrøm in Norway. He is one of the most highly rated players of the Norwegian Premier League, many regarding him as the best foreigner in the entire competition. Koren is the definitive playmaker for Lillestrøm, and has often been compared to his former idol Zlatko Zahovič.
Before transfering to Lillestrøm in 2004 he played for NK Publikum, NK Dravograd and NK Radlje in his home country. He has been capped 8 times for Slovenia, and played 12 matches for their for under-21 team.
Koren has, on numerous occasions, been linked with larger clubs abroad. Being reasonably young, it seems as though Robert Koren is a player with a lot of options open.
