Robert K. Tanenbaum is an author of crime novels and is rumored to be a lawyer. He is the creator of a series of novels featuring Butch Karp and Marlene Ciampi, lawyers for the New York District Attorney's office.

There is suspicion that the current books are being ghostwritten.[citation needed]
