Robert James Douglas (born 24 April 1972 in Lanark) is a Scottish footballer currently playing for Leicester City. He is a goalkeeper and is also a Scotland international.

Douglas, formerly of Dundee F.C., had been a regular member of Celtic's team and played an instrumental role in Celtic's run to the 2003 UEFA Cup final. However, during the 2004/05 season he faced stiff competition from youngster David Marshall and at the end of the season was told by Celtic's then manager, Martin O'Neill, that he would not be first choice for the next season. Douglas decided that he wanted to test himself in England, rather than sit on the bench, and joined Leicester City on a free transfer.

While he was considered a good goalkeeper by many fans at Dundee, the same could not be said for his time at Celtic. He was generally made a mockery of and earned the nickname "Butterfingers Douglas" and is considered by the majority of Celtic fans to have cost the club victory in the 2003 UEFA Cup Final against Porto, which Celtic lost 3-2 after extra-time.

His performances have also been erratic for Leicester, and a series of poor mistakes (coupled with his toothless appearance) have earned him the nicknames 'Rab C. Nesbitt' and 'The Brickie' by some Leicester fans. Douglas has, on numerous occaisions, conceded penalties or dropped simple crosses. He is one of a number of underachieving players former manager Craig Levein brought down from Scotland, and his future at the Walkers Stadium is under threat after being replace lated in the 2005/06 season by Paul Henderson and promising performances by former youth academy goalkeeper Conrad Logan.

Douglas was a regular for the Scotland national team from 2002 until this year, although he has missed selection for the last couple of squads. As a boy, Douglas was a Motherwell supporter.
