Robert Barnard

Robert Barnard (born November 23, 1936} is a mystery writer, critic and lecturer. His first crime novel Death of an Old Goat was published in 1977. The novel was written while he was a lecturer at University of Tromso in Norway. He has gone on to write more than 40 other books and numerous short stories.
Robert states his favorite crime author is Agatha Christie, and in 1980 published a critique of her work titled A Talent to Deceive: An Appreciation of Agatha Christie.
Robert was awarded the Cartier Diamond Dagger in 2003 by the Crime Writers Association for a lifetime of achievement.
Robert published, under the pseudonym Bernard Bastable a series of alternative history mystery novels featuring Wolfgang Mozart, having survived to an old age as the detective.
