Robert B. Duncan

Robert B. Duncan (born December 4, 1920) was a Democratic congressman from Oregon.
Duncan was born in Normal, Illinois and attended public schools in Bloomington, Illinois. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1942 and in 1948 received his law degree from the [University of Michigan] Law School. During World War II, he served in the United States Merchant Marine and United States Naval Air Force from 1942 to 1945.
In 1956, he was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives, serving three terms. From 1963 to 1967, he was elected to Congress as a Democrat based in Medford, Oregon. An unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate in 1968 and 1972, he resumed a private law practice. In 1974, he was again elected to Congress and served for three more terms, representing the Portland, Oregon area. In 1980, he was upset in the Democratic primary by Ron Wyden.
