Robert Acosta

Robert Acosta, from Santa Ana, CA, served as a Specialist in Operation Iraqi Freedom. While driving through Baghdad, a grenade was thrown into Robert's Humvee. The grenade exploded as Robert tried to toss the grenade out resulting in severe wounds to Robert's left leg which was shattered, and the loss of his right arm at the elbow. He's now working as a veterans advocate with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, and attending college in Southern California.

Robert has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and several other major news publications. He was also prominently featured in The Ground Truth a powerful documentary by Patricia Foulkrod which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January of 2006 and is being distributed by Focus Features.
