[edit] The Moulettes

In June of 2003, The Moulettes formed, then called "Hannah, Ruth and Rob." They first played at the Glastonbury Festival on a Greenpeace stage. Skipper and his sister Ruth were part of the original line up.[4]

[edit] The Holloways

Skipper joined The Holloways after a chance encounter on September 19, 2004. A week earlier, Alfie Jackson and Bryn Fowler had already established the beginnings of the band and went to a local pub and live venue on Holloway Road in London called Nambucca. Skipper performed live, but Jackson and Fowler did not like his performance. A week later, they saw Skipper perform again at the same venue and enjoyed it. They approached him afterwards with an invitation to have a jam session. On October 10, 2004, Skipper and Jackson met back at Nambucca to play. Drummer Dave Danger, who lived above the venue, invited them to play in his room. After an hour, Jackson and Skipper had six songs with guitar and fiddle parts and harmonizing vocals, which they performed. Danger immediately joined the band after hearing them play.[5]

[edit] Larrikin Love

Skipper has a cameo on the Larrikin Love album, The Freedom Spark, on which he plays the fiddle for the single "Edwould."[6][7]

[edit] Music Style

Some of the songs of Skipper and Jackson are compared to Calypso music.[8] The combined vocals of Skipper and Jackson have commonly been compared to the vocal duets of The Libertines.[9] The music video for The Holloways' song Two Left Feet shows Skipper singing lead two and a half minutes into the video. [edit] Miscellaneous

At one concert, Skipper reportedly climbed to the top of a ten foot speaker and battered his guitar into pieces.[10]
