Rob Kelly

Robert Anthony Kelly (born December 21, 1964) is the manager of the English Championship football club Leicester City. He was appointed on 13 February 2006[1] until the end of the 2005-06 season, following a successful run of three league victories as caretaker manager. On 14 April 2006 he signed a one-year rolling contract, confirming his status as manager.
In his first ten games in charge, his team took 21 points from a possible 30, steering the side up the Championship table and away from the threat of relegation to League One. In recognition of his achievements, Kelly was awarded the Championship Manager of the Month award for March 2006. This followed wins over relegation rivals Hull City and Millwall, as well as victory against Luton Town and a creditable draw against Premiership-bound Reading.
Kelly was previously Assistant manager to Craig Levein, who had been in charge at the club for just 18 months before being sacked.
Kelly's playing career as a midfielder was brief, being cut short by a back injury in 1990. Having begun his career at Leicester City, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1986. Despite making only 16 appearances (2 goals), Kelly played a part in the revival of Wolves, helping them to successive championships and making Wolves the only club to have won all four English divisions. In 1989, his back injury having forced retirement, Kelly became Youth Team Coach at Wolves. He then trained as a journalist at the Wolverhampton Express & Star, before returning to football, first back in the Wolves coaching set-up, then moving to Blackburn Rovers, Watford and then Leicester.
