Rob Jones (born November 3, 1979) is an English football player, playing for Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League. He signed on a four year contract from Grimsby Town in June 2006 for £150,000. Grimsby signed him on a free transfer from Stockport in July 2004.

He started his career playing non-league football in his native north-east while working as a PE teacher at a school for special needs children.

At 6'7" Jones is one of the tallest defenders in the Scottish Premier League. His success with Hibernian has seen him linked with a move to English Premier League side Reading As of 08/12/06 he was 2nd top scorer with the high flying Hibees

After the 1-0 victory over Tottenham in September 2005, he was carried off the pitch by Grimsby fans.

He should not be confused with the former Liverpool defender Rob Jones.
