Rob Gell

Rob Gell is the weekend weather presenter of the Melbourne, Australia bulletin of Seven News. Gell, who is a trained coastal geomorphologist and geography teacher, began his television career in 1979, moving from Melbourne University to work with Ten News. Moving to the Nine Network in 1988, Gell was innovative as a designer and producer of television weather presentations for 25 years until in 2003, when he was dropped in favour of the younger Livinia Nixon. In 2004, Gell was approached by Seven to become their summer and weekend weather presenter, a position he has held ever since. Gell is a passionate environmental campaigner.
