Rob Burton

Rob Burton was elected mayor of Oakville, Ontario in the November 13, 2006 municipal election. After falling only 28 votes short in his first attempt for the office in 2003, he won his second attempt and defeated long-time incumbent Ann Mulvale by almost 2,000 votes. He took office December 1, 2006.
He served as a local residents association president since the mid-1990s. He is the founder of YTV, a Canadian satellite to cable television network for children, youth and their families.
