Unless we link to all of the major bike manufacturers I don't see why we should link to Trek only. I'm going to remove that link. --Wikipediatastic 15:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Also looking at this article it would appear that people have become rather confused as to what it is about. I think it should be about utility cycling. However people ride on the road for a variety of different reasons, commuting, couriering, going to the shops, fun, sports etc. Do the last two count as utility cycling? I would argue that Sport certainly doesn't. However in the UK at least when cyclists talk about Road Cycling they are thinking of road racing. I think this article needs a total re-write. --Wikipediatastic 15:51, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Road cycling is a very general term and encompasses any kind of bicycling that is done on paved roads. I think the current article defines it well enough. The See Also section lists the relevant related subtopics. Limiting an article titled Road cycling to just utility cycling or just road bicycle racing doesn't make sense, especially since those specific topics already have their own dedicated articles. --Serge 22:30, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
