Roaring Creek
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roaring Creek is a small village just west of Belmopan in the Cayo District of Belize. It is unfortunately noted for its high crime rate. The Guanacaste park boasts some of Belize's oldest trees and borders on the Belize River which joins the Roaring Creek in the village.
Roaring Creek has a mixed population, which includes Asian immigrants, Central American immigrants, Creoles and Amerindians. Creole is the main language used in the village and the village is actually pronounced "Rolling Creek" when spoken of in Creole. The village hosts an elementary school, a few bars and restaurants, a few churches and grocery shops, and a police station.
