The Roanoke bass (Ambloplites cavifrons) is a species of freshwater fish in the sunfish family (Centrarchidae) of order Perciformes. It is native only to a few river systems (including the Roanoke) in Virginia and North Carolina.

A. cavifrons reaches a maximum recorded overall length of 36 cm (14 in) and a maximum recorded weight of 620 g (1.4 lb).

It prefers clear, rocky creeks and pools.

The Roanoke bass is considered Vulnerable because its very small range renders it sensitive to danger from human activity.
