WB: RMX

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WB:RMX is an album by The Residents, released in 2003.

The Residents originally got their name when a demo tape recorded in 1970 (later called The Warner Bros. Album) was rejected and returned, since no name of the band was provided, to "Residents." The album itself had only officially seen the light of day when played on a Portland, Oregon radio show in the 1970s. The group had been reluctant to ever truly let the music have mass release due to recording quality and the fact that their sound had vastly improved between that album and their official first full-length LP, Meet the Residents.

So, instead of just releasing the album straight, the group decided to release the original tapes remixed. What arises is a combination of the primeval Residential experimentation with the modern, tight playing that has been a feature of the group since 1997.
