Was see Ernest Gaines born in Riverlake the mansion or at Riverlake plantation? www.pctourism.org/ (under "Famous Natives"), and www.louisiana.edu/Academic/LiberalArts/ENGL/Creative/Gaines.htm which has "In his childhood, the center of his world was the old slave quarters on the River Lake Plantation, where five generations of his family lived", and WP all suggest it was the plantation, rather than the house.
