[edit] Origin

Iv'e been researching this class as part of writing an article for Acheron class destroyer. From what I have so far the first three ships of this class ( Yarra, Warrego, Parramatta) were laid down and completed as Acherons, transferred to the RAN and made the journey to Australia, rather than being dissasembled and re-assembled later (this seems beyond the shipbuilding capabilities of the time to me). The technical specifications available here and elsewhere agree with this, they certainly aren't River or E class ships. According to my sources three Yarrow-built specials were ordered to replace these 3 ships that were never completed for the RN. If I am right here, this article needs to be updated accordingly, linked in with the Acheron article when I complete it, and be disambigauted from the RN Rivers.
