[edit] Hendrix
Someone once told me that shortly before his death, Hendrix announced that he would exclusively be using Les Pauls from then on.. I have no idea whether this is true or not, but it should at least be looked in to. Jhayes94 21:17, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
On second thought, I don't think this article should be on Wikipedia, it is NOT encyclopedic. Just think of all the rivalries that could be made into pages, Ford vs. Chevy, Pepsi vs. Coke... it really is ridiculous. I believe this page should be deleted. Jhayes94 01:07, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Delete or merge?
I agree that the topic itself is not encyclopaedic, but the information on guitar design is relavant to other topics. Maybe it should be edited down and merged into the electric guitar page? RedEarth 17:38, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Acoustic?
With all due respect, since when have Fender & Gibson been rivals in the production of acoustic guitars? Best wihes, Lion King 19:29, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] his/its
First of all I think this is a perfectly good topic, and that if good articles are written about them, there's no reason for Pepsi/Coke, Ford/Chevy, or Macintosh/Windows not to have their own articles. Anywho. You're interchanging his and its in the article. Referring either to Fender and Gibson as individuals or as corporations. I'm way too far from the topic to come up with an answer, but this needs to be standardized -MBlume 03:10, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
to an extent, and moreso on the Fender side, the companies DO represent the vision of one person, but 'it's' would be more appropriate. that said, i think this article is rather pointless. the relevant information could easily be incorporated into the respective articles- most of the rivalry was played out in specific products- e.g. the gibson sg was a direct response to the popularity of the fender stratocaster.
