Rivers School

The Rivers School is a private, coeducational, preparatory school, located in Weston, Massachusetts. Founded in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1915 by educator Robert W. Rivers, The Rivers School was originally an 'open-air school', modelled after similar schools in the United Kingdom. In 1940, Rivers merged with the Country Day School for Boys of Boston. In 1960, it relocated to its current sprawling Loker Farm acreage bordering Nonesuch Pond in Weston.
The school's Middle School program consists of grades 6-8 and the Upper School program is for students in grades 9-12. As of 2006, 426 students from 75 Massachusetts towns attend. In the Upper School, the average class size is 15 students. As of 2006, the Rivers School's endowment is $14.75 million.
Athletically, Rivers competes in the Independent School League.
