River Twiss

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The River Twiss or Kingdale Beck is a small river in North Yorkshire.

Rising at Kingdale Head at the confluence of Back Gill and Long Gill in the Yorkshire Dales, Kingdale Beck flows south through the steep sided Kingdale valley, overlooked by Braida Garth Scar and Gragareth.

Beneath Keld Head, the now River Twiss falls down Thornton Force and Pecca Falls, then through Swilla Glen to Thornton-in-Lonsdale and on to Ingleton where it meets the River Doe to form the River Greta.
