River Trails Middle School

River Trails Middle School is a sixth through eighth grade middle school located in the Chicago suburb of Mount Prospect, Illinois. It is part of the small School District 26. Most students spend grades K-5 in the other two schools in the district, Indian Grove School and Euclid School. The majority of River Trails students go on to attend John Hersey High School, but a few, who live in Des Plaines, (specifically the subdivisions known as Craig Manor, Kylemore Greens, and Longford Glen) attend Maine West High School.

The school has brought back its foreign language programs and has switched to a 10-period daily schedule. Instead of Student Council, the school has "Student Government". RTMS is known for its music program. The bucket band and steel drum band have been on Oprah.
