River Ridge (building)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

River Ridge is a building in Bloomington, Minnesota. It houses Trinity School at River Ridge and the offices of the Servant Branch of the People of Praise, the owners and operators of Trinity Schools. The building was bought from Control Data in 1991. It is located at 2300 East 88th Street in Bloomington, Minnesota. In 2006, the building was finally sold, as Trinity and the People of Praise are moving to a new building in Eagan, a nearby suburb. The building is being rented out currently, and the current tenants are expected to move out in October 2007.

[edit] The Building

There is a single hallway down the entire building off of which classrooms are branched, and another long hallway branching off in which the People of Praise wing is located. Because the building was previously used by a top-secret government contractor, it is somewhat soundproof. In 1996 an auditorium (the circle) was opened at one end of the hallway, providing more classrooms, space for lunch tables, a stage and more. In 1997 construction of the addition began at the far end of the hallway - the 400 wing.

[edit] Piper Jaffray

The building is used by Piper Jaffray for an emergency building in case their main building becomes disabled. In return for this service, Piper Jaffray has provided some of the computers and other supplies for the school as well as a rent. The auditorium was used for a brief time during the 2003-2004 school year as a backup room.
