River City Rebels
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The River City Rebels are an American punk rock band, originally formed in hartford, Vermont in the late 1990's. The Rebels consist of Ward Aimi (vocals), guitarists Dan O'Day and Gabe Rich, Chris Jukowsky (bass), Erik Schmidt (drums), Brandon Rainier (trombone), and Dan McCool (trumpet). They were signed to Victory Records in 2000. Their boisterous sound and politically-charged lyrics caught the attention of teenaged pop-punk and ska fans with their first album, Racism, Religion, and War (2000), and their sophomore release Playin' To Live, Livin' To Play (2001). They have since released two more albums on Victory, No Good No Time No Pride in 2002 and Hate To Be Loved in 2004. Their eclectic sound falls somewhere between old-school punk rock, like The Sex Pistols, Black Flag and The Clash, and energetic third-wave ska like Less Than Jake, Operation Ivy and Mad Caddies. Touring with everyone from Mustard Plug to the legendary Dead Kennedys, the River City Rebels have created a mob of slam-dancing disciples in the pop-punk realm, eventually landing a spot on the Warped Tour lineup in 2006.
