Rita Abatzi

Rita Abatzi (Greek: Ρίτα Αμπατζή) (1914 in Smyrna, Asia Minor, now Izmir, Turkey - 1969 in Egaleo (Athens), Greece) was a Greek rebetiko musician who began her career in music in the first years of the 1930s. She sang rebetiko, Smyrneika and other music. She took over the discs of 78 rpm in the years of 1930 - 1940.

Sha also participated with the most famous musicians including Panagiotis Toundas, Vangelis Papazoglou, Kostas Skarvelis, Iakovos Montanaris, Spyros Peristeris, Dimitrios Semsis, I. Ogdontaki up to Markos Vamvakaris and Vassilis Tsitsanis. After the war she didn't sing and did not publish any discography. She died on June 17, 1969 in the suburban Athenian city of Egaleo or Aigaleo.
