[edit] Public Transportation
Among the local population, public transportation is primarily via buses, and secondarily by way of trains. For bus transport, bus number 6 and bus number 16 are the primary bus lines. Number 6 travels from the center of Århus through Risskov Forest and along the coastline on Nordre Strandvej to Åkrogen, number 16 follows a route slightly more inland, passing by Runddelen and Risskov Skole before crossing the train tracks on Vestre Strandallé and joining up with route 6 on Nordre Standvej, close to Bellevue beach.
The more peripheral buses number 53, 56, 58, and 119 run on Grenåvej, along the edge of Risskov, and primarily service the population of Egå and Lystrup, two lesser suburbs in the vicinity.

[edit] Famous Malls in Risskov
Travellers going to Risskov frequently visit one or more of the local malls. The "famous three" malls are, in no particular order Veri Centeret, an outstanding example of late 70's socio-politically involved architecture built in alluring yellowstone, Brobjerg Parken, an early 80's two-story brownstone building which serves the nearby apartment complex of the same name, and opened in 1983 featuring an inviting locally styled traditional Danish pub called Center Bodega, a pet shop, a hairdresser and a branch office of Provinsbanken. Last but not least, though certainly not located in Risskov per se, Plantorama 2000 has gained support as one of the foremost malls of the region. However, this may primarily be due to the extraordinarily rich selection of amoeba-like decorative stone plants.

[edit] Risskov in literature
Risskov has been immortalized in Danish literature in the works of Svend Aage Madsen and, more recently, in Jens Blendstrup's "Laterna Vagina" and his lyrics for the musical and poetic album Piksvingeri & negerlege.
