[edit] History

Formed in Gent, Belgium in 2002 when members of The Deal and Kingpin wanted to form a side project, Rise and Fall later became the most important band for all four members, after these former groups disbanded. Following some lineup changes, the band released their first album in April 2004 entitled "Hellmouth". The album was picked up a few months later and the CD released by JTTP Records in Germany and the vinyl was released by Anger Management Records in Belgium.

The band then set out on a self-booked European tour in August 2004, and the following October were picked up by 100 Demons to support them on their European tour. During these tours the band started writing material for their following album. However, in March 2005 the drummer departed from the band, stunting the new album's progress. That April, one year after it was originally recorded, "Hellmouth" was released in the United States with bonus tracks on Philidelphia's "SA Mob" record label.

In July 2005, Rise and Fall, with a new drummer, recorded their second album "Into Oblivion". Recorded in CCR Studios in Zulte, Belgium it was mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge). American labels Deathwish Inc. and Reflections Records distributed the album. Throughout the rest of 2005, Rise and Fall toured with labelmates Blacklisted. In 2006, Rise and Fall were a part of the Reflections Records Tour, alongside acts such as Modern Life Is War and Pelican, and also played Belgian festivals, including Pukkelpop and Graspop.
