Ring Ring (1973) |
Waterloo (1974) |
Ring Ring is the first album by Swedish singing group ABBA, released in 1973 in Scandinavia and a limited number of other territories, including Australia, South Africa and Mexico (see 1973 in music). The album was re-released in Australasia in 1975 (different cover [1]), and wasn't released in the United Kingdom until 1992 and the United States until 1995. The re-release artwork for the album (shown right) uses the name "ABBA", though in fact at the time of the original album's release, the name ABBA had not yet been coined. The original album is awkwardly credited to "Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha & Frida". Ring Ring has been reissued in digitally remastered form three times; first in 1997, then in 2001 and again in 2005 as part of the The Complete Studio Recordings box set.
