Rikdo Koshi

Rikdo Koshi (六道神士 Rikudō Kōshi?, sometimes romanised as "Rikudo Koshi/Koshi Rikudo") born November 16, 1970, is a Japanese mangaka, his most notable work being Excel Saga.
Rikdo graduated from Kyushu Sangyo University and lives in Dazaifu, Fukuoka. He displays some of the signs associated with otaku, insofar as he collects kitsch, likes playing computer games, and drawing breasts. The several current Romanizations of his name have come about due to differening treatment by the North American distributors of Excel Saga the manga and anime: ADV Films transliterated his name as Rikdo Koshi and Koshi Rikdo, whereas VIZ Media transliterated it as Rikdo Koshi. He himself romanizes it as Rikudou Koushi. [1]

His most popular product is Excel Saga, a manga which he describes as a work dealing with the everyday aspects of living in Japan. Fifteen volumes are now available, with another couple in the works. His production rate is roughly one and a half volumes per year. The animated version of Excel Saga contains stories from the first five volumes of the manga, and even features Rikdo as a character, although he is played by Wataru Takagi.

- A Sonic the Hedgehog related dōjinshi
- Multiple other dōjinshi, often pornographic in nature. Most of such comics are written without the use of an alias; however, his earliest works, while a member of the Genkotsu Dan (げんこつ団) dōjinshi circle, use the pseudonym of Genkotsu No.2 (げんこつ２号, genkotsu ni gō).

Rikdo doesn't work alone; he has a team of oddball assistant to help him with the woes of not drawing enough breasts. They show up in four panel comics at the end of most volumes:
- Mr. 87 is obviously one of his more reliable co-workers as he frequents adventurous expeditions and visits to the hospital. Antonio (the pension owner in the anime) and the recurring hotel owner in the manga are based on him, looks and all. Rikudou cares and worries about Mr. 87 a lot;
- Mr. Jinnojyou is a bit of a musician, and obviously a good one;
- Mr. Po likes wearing white clothes to brighten up his soul; and
- Others who are as yet mostly incognito.
