Ridge Racer 7 is the latest installment in the Ridge Racer series, the game is exclusive to the PlayStation 3, and was one of the launch title for the system in North America. The game will have around 40 cars, with each car having around 200,000 different variations. There will also be 20 courses, available to drive reverse. It has been announced by Namco that some of the game content can be installed directly onto the PS3's standard hard drive in order to shorten loading times. The installed content will take up approximately 5 GB of storage space.
Ridge Racer 7 boasts 1080p resolution graphics running at 60 frames per second. It also features 5.1 surround sound and free online gameplay.
A trailer was shown at the Tokyo Game Show 2006, on the show floor of the event.
