  • Implement a consistent organizational scheme and design. As it is, the article has the same feel as a piece of software, that has been worked on by a number of teams over time. E.g. the Pastel compiler that rms first wanted to use as the base for GCC. - Lentower 01:20, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Use a consistent writing style. As it is, the article has the same feel as a piece of software, that has been worked on by a number of teams over time. E.g. the Pastel compiler that rms first wanted to use as the base for GCC. I.e. the formatting, writing style, tenses, grammar, etc., are all varied and inconsistent. - Lentower 01:20, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Citations, Wiki links, and WWW links:
    • Resolve duplicate citations and diffferences between them in these places: {{cite}}s, Publications section, and References section. - Lentower 01:27, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Check that links to the same source are consistent in style and use. - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
    • CURRENT - Lentower 01:27, 16 October 2006 (UTC) - Convert all "[http://...]" links to <ref>[http://..." links so only one kind of "[1]" vs "[1]" is in article. Having two series of these is confusing. And the "[http:..]" links do not have entries in the "References" section as expected. - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Convert all "<ref>[http:..]" links to "<ref{{cite..." links for style consistency.- Lentower 01:27, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Make sure all relevant fields in the "{{cite...}}" template are filled out.- Lentower 01:27, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Check that all the links are active, and still make sense to be included in the article. - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Carefully go through the article to see if more Wikilinks, including "<ref{{cite..." links are needed. - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Deal with "Categories: Articles with unsourced statements". - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
  • No one from the WP Biography Projects has rated the article. I.e. no one has added values for "class" and "importance" to {{WPBiography|living=yes|class=|importance=}} on this Talk page. Get this done first. - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Shorten the article as suggested by Wikipedia:Article_size, which is at the top of each edit of this article. Perhaps by forking off one or more new articles. - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Do a good check over the category space to see if there are others that could be added or created. E.g. "Massachusetts Institute of Technology Researchers" is one he fits in. - Lentower 20:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Too many points in Wikipedia:What_is_a_featured_article? are not meet. Go through the entire article versus these points. Here is a summary of what's needed, but see Wikipedia:What_is_a_featured_article? for full details - Lentower 20:17, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

  • His membership to teleSur advisory committee is out of context. It should be in the honors section, or there should be an expansion on Stallman's work with the Bolivarian government of Venezuela that provides the context. --72.92.129.247 17:44, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
