I edited this page from the original stub as I felt the need to correct what I saw as simply an attack on Duncan, his research, and those who use his research as a resource. The previous author also showed bias in claiming that all "peak oilers" are apocalyptic, and are not taken seriously by the scientific community.

There is a broad consensus in the geological community that oil production will peak soon, it is a question of when and how dire the effects will be. There are many different theories, and those of us who follow Peak Oil have widely divergent views about those theories.
