Rick Pinner creator of the Texas Silver dollar

In 1997 Rick Pinner considered the need for Texas to have a special commemorative "coin" that would be of pure silver and would be sold to commemorate Texas' new century. The coin turned into a Texas Silver Dollar of .999 pure silver and being one Troy ounce in weight. The idea sold well and each year since Rick Pinner's Texas Mint has produced a Texas Silver dollar of a new design. See www.texasmint.com for more information regarding this product.
